ehchat is a private chat app for one trusted friend circle. Accounts are approved by the app admin before chat access is unlocked.
Data ehchat uses
ehchat stores account details such as username, display name, password hash, profile color, profile photo, session records, and admin approval state. It also stores chat messages, replies, reactions, attachments, chat names, group photos, read receipts, delivery state, online state, typing state, and push notification tokens.
How data is used
Data is used to provide the private chat experience: signing in, syncing chat history across devices, sending messages and files, showing live indicators, and delivering notifications. ehchat does not use message content for advertising, analytics, public discovery, or third-party profiling.
Service providers
ehchat uses Vercel for hosting, Supabase for database and attachment storage, Expo for native push delivery, and Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver device notifications. Push notification payloads avoid message bodies and include only notification text such as "New message" or mention text plus routing data needed to open the relevant chat.
Retention and deletion
Chat history and attachments are retained so friends can use multiple devices and keep full history. Users can delete messages for everyone inside the app. Account, attachment, or broader deletion requests should be sent to the ehchat admin.
Access and support
ehchat is not a public social network. If you need account help, data access, or data deletion, contact the ehchat admin who invited you. See Support for app support information.
